Butterfly Reports

March 22, 2012

We show a great interest in the world around us and animals. Check out these two reports that were written over the last two days about some friendly visitors to school.

A Monarch Butterfly is a cold flying animal.

It has two antennae  and it has spiracles. They breath out of them. It has four legs and they have beautiful orange wings.

First it is a little egg then it is a caterpillar, next a chrysalis, lastly it is a beautiful butterfly.

Butterflies eat nectar. They use their proboscis to eat.

The children have been learning to take digital photos and manipulate them on the computer.  So far we have taken photos of each other, the native area and things around school that we think make it special. Check out the amazing photos of a thistle in the native area taken by Caitlyn.
